Darci Be Good Wins 2012 Hawkesbury Gold Cup – Results

November 9th, 2012

Darci Be Good has won the 2012 Hawkesbury Gold Cup at Hawkesbury Racecourse yesterday November 9, 2012.

The four-year-old has won four of his 18 race starts and has earned more than $410,000 in prize money during his horse racing career.

Darci Be Good won the 2012 Hawkesbury Gold Cup by almost half a length in front of Isopach, who finished second, and Praecido, who passed the post in third.

Trainer Bede Murray admitted that the owners of Darci Be Good convinced him to run the galloper in the 2012 Hawkesbury Gold Cup.

“I was considering not running him and had another race that I was thinking of for him,” Murray said.

“But they told me they wanted to run him, so I said OK.”

Murray had a total of three runners in the 2012 Hawkesbury Gold Cup field.

“I then said to them, ‘he’s as good as he’s ever been and he’s probably the best chance of the three’.

“And it turned out that way.”

Murray’s other runner, Worldwide, finished sixth, while his son’s horse Alma’s Fury placed in seventh.

“It’s great to ride a winner for these boys,” O’Hara said.

“I had a lot to do with them at Kembla when I was apprenticed there.

“They’ve stuck with me on this horse and it was good to repay them today.

“Bede also had him in great condition and I knew before the race he would run well because he looked great.”
